Beth Canning is supplier diversity manager at Prudential Financial Inc., and is the primary contact between Prudential Financial and the diverse supplier community. Canning is responsible for managing supplier diversity, which ensures that diverse-owned businesses are given meaningful opportunities to participate in Prudential’s procurement process.
Canning has been involved in supplier diversity for most of her 31-year tenure at Prudential and has devoted herself to the effort full time since 2000. Before joining Prudential, she worked for Carteret Savings Bank as an assistant branch manager.
Canning received The Women Presidents’ Educational Organization Advocate of the Year NY Region in 2015 and has been listed among Minority Business News USA’s Champions of Supplier Diversity (2017, 2016, 2015), Women’s Enterprise USA’s Top 100 Leaders in Supplier Diversity (2017, 2016) and The Minority Business News USA Best of the Decade Circle of Honor/Supplier Diversity Professionals (2015).
She currently serves as Treasurer and member of the executive committee and Board for the Financial Services Roundtable for Supplier Diversity. She also serves on the board for the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization.
Canning earned a bachelor’s degree from Drew University and a master’s in business administration from Montclair State. She is a certified professional in supplier diversity and has earned lifetime status of certified purchasing manager.
